The artists and their paintings are the stars of any watermedia exhibition. The juror is the casting director; the venue is the stage. The AWA is indeed fortunate that its 2003 national exhibition had so many fine entries, a sensitive and discriminating juror in Donna Watson, and an outstanding facility with a most helpful and efficient staff. My congratulations and thanks to you all. As always, The West Valley Art Museum is a treasure. A special thanks to curators David Tooker and Lori Toczek.

Unseen, however, are the many volunteers who helped make the whole thing possible, along with dozens of patrons and donors. All have made outstanding contributions to this effort. My personal thanks to each of you. Six volunteers are deserving of special recognition: Past President Barbara Freedman, Hazel Stone, Marilyn Schutzky, Mickey Daniels, James Farrah and Jim Ellis, show chairman.

On behalf of the AWA, its officers and volunteers, I want to invite you to celebrate these inspiring and diverse artistic offerings, and hope everyone will participate in future exhibitions, if not as an entrant, then as a volunteer.
